Relationship therapist in Bozeman, MT | Meet Sarah Martinez, LCPC

EVERY RELATIONSHIP HAS RUPTURES.

It’s time to learn how to repair.

YOU’RE HERE BECAUSE SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE.

Maybe you’ve tried everything—talking it out, ignoring it, starting fresh—only to end up in the same painful cycles. The arguments never get resolved, the distance keeps growing, and the hurt lingers no matter how much time has passed. You might be questioning whether things can ever feel good again, whether “love” is enough, or if you’re just too different to make it work.

You’re not looking for someone to take sides or offer quick fixes. You want real understanding, direct and honest guidance, and a path forward that actually works. Because you’re ready for things to be different.

I CAN HELP YOU FIND A WAY THROUGH THE STORM.

Get to know me better

SOMETIMES, RELATIONSHIPS CAN FEEL LIKE A TANGLED KNOT—

Frustrating, stuck, and impossible to undo. I can help you untangle things, one piece at a time.

I don’t just sit back and listen—I’m actively engaged, helping you understand what’s really happening between you and why. I step in when needed, offering insight, asking the hard questions, and guiding you toward clarity. Because only when you’re clear on what’s happening do you have the power to change it.

I approach every conversation with empathy and curiosity because I want to understand how you think, why you react the way you do, and what’s beneath the surface. I don’t believe in villains or victims—just two people with different perspectives that need to be heard. I’m not the therapist who sits silently across from you, leaving you to wonder what I’m thinking. If I see something, I’ll name it. If I have a thought, I’ll share it.

Most people come to therapy focused on their partner, their kids, or someone else in their life. But the real work—the work that leads to lasting change—starts with you. Together, we’ll work through the patterns keeping you stuck, shift the conversations you’re having (or not having), and create a path toward a stronger, more connected relationship.

METHODS I USE…..

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT can help couples and individuals recognize the deeper emotions driving their relationship patterns and create a secure, lasting bond. I’ve spent thousands of hours training in EFT and seen firsthand how it transforms relationships by fostering connection, understanding, and trust. Whether you're navigating conflict, rebuilding after betrayal, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, EFT offers a path toward feeling truly seen and supported.

I also offer EFT intensives for couples, providing focused, in-depth support to work through challenges and deepen your emotional connection. Learn more here.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps identify and shift unhelpful thinking so you can respond to challenges in ways that align with the life and relationships you want. CBT pairs well with EFT, allowing us to not only explore emotions but also develop practical skills to change negative thought cycles, reduce anxiety, and improve communication. Together, these approaches help you gain both insight and tools for lasting change.
